Zscaler is looking for a Senior Staff Software Development Engineer to join their ZIA Cloud team to ensure ZIA software runs in Public Cloud Infrastructure, leveraging strong public cloud infrastructure knowledge, hands-on development experience, and proven leadership capabilities.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience, including designing and deploying large-scale infrastructure in public clouds (AWS and/or GCP) with expert-level proficiency in IaC tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, and/or Deployment Manager
- Strong programming expertise in Go and/or Python, with a solid understanding of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines for automation
- Extensive experience with cloud monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, and/or StackDriver) and FinOps cost optimization practices
- Deep knowledge of public cloud (AWS and/or GCP) networking fundamentals (e.g., VPCs, Compute, DNS, routing, load balancers, and/or firewalls)
- Strong background in Linux / FreeBSD
- Strong experience in developing Micro-services, Cloud-Init modules and Tool development for Zero-Touch Provisioning.
- Network Security Fundamentals: Mastery of TCP/IP, DNS, Http(s), VPN technologies (IPSec, SSL VPN), NAT, and load balancing
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, deployment, and management of Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA) services in public clouds like AWS and/or GCP using cloud-native tools (LB, Compute Instances, Firewall / SG, etc.)
- Develop and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) methodologies using Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, and/or GCP Deployment Manager, enabling automated deployments and scaling
- Design robust CI/CD pipelines and implement automation for elastic scaling, monitoring, and cloud resource provisioning
- Set up and maintain cloud monitoring systems with tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Kloudfuse, CloudWatch, and StackDriver; enable FinOps monitoring to optimize costs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide architectural guidance, troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues, and ensure high availability and performance across deployments
