Zscaler is looking to solve the problem of securely and privately sending traffic from corporate devices to Zscaler's global network, where advanced web filtering and Zero Trust policies are applied, by hiring a Senior Staff Software Development Engineer to join their Zscaler Client Connector team.
Requirements
- Deep expertise in Rust programming language and familiarity with lower-level languages such as C/C++
- Strong knowledge of system and network programming (e.g. firewalls, VPN’s, protocols, TCP/IP, UDP, DNS, QUIC, H/3, proxies, etc.)
- Familiarity with system concepts such as virtual memory, multi-threading, and system APIs
- Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills in both networking and system-level contexts
- Familiarity with kernel-mode programming, VPN technologies, and strong understanding of security protocols and standards
- Experience writing testable, low-complexity code with dependency injection and thorough documentation
- Proficiency in additional programming languages like Swift, Python, or comparable technologies
Responsibilities
- Developing high-performance networking code for multiple desktop platforms using Rust language and platform-native APIs
- Improving code quality through building solid, testable, and well-documented software foundations
- Designing and implementing major development projects with a focus on scalability, security, and performance
- Collaborating with product managers and cross-functional teams to deliver customer-impacting features
- Debugging and solving complex network-related problems and enhancing system functionality
