Waymo is seeking to improve its autonomous driving technology, specifically focusing on enhancing left-hand driving capabilities and optimizing trajectory planning for efficiency and effectiveness, addressing the challenge of limited left-hand driving data.
Requirements
- Great C++ and design skills.
- Experience with large scale production software systems
- Experience with safety-critical robotics applications
- Proven Technical Leadership either with explicit role (TL or TLM) or implicit role (technical lead of multiple projects with multiple contributing engineers)
Responsibilities
- Focus on left hand driving capabilites
- Work on significant evaluation work needed with limited left hand data logs.
- Support cross-team architecture work to re-use compute and make trajectory planning for efficient and more effective.
Other
- Strong independence and product thinking.
- Collaboration skills to solve problems outside of TC's direct ownership is a must-have.
- Proven ability to see through a tough design pivot would be ideal.
- Advanced degree in Computer Science or Robotics
