Solipsys, a subsidiary of Collins Aerospace, is seeking a Senior Systems Test Engineer to address challenges in Multi-Sensor and Information Fusion, Networked Situational Awareness, Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning, and Visualization technologies within their C4I Network Centric Defense System solutions.
Requirements
- Experience as lead systems or test engineer on a software development program.
- Experience with any of these systems: Link 16 Tactical Data Link (J series messages), Command and Control (C2), Surveillance/Radars, Air Traffic Control, Mission Planning, Missile Systems or Combat/Fire Control Systems, or Shipboard Combat Systems such as Aegis and SSDS Mk II.
- Experience with Systems of Systems Software Integration and Test across multiple operating environments such as Linux, Windows, Virtual Machines, and Containers.
- Experience with software development in Java and C++ and scripting in Linux shells, PowerShell, and Python.
- Understanding of Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and the Unified Modeling Language (UML).
- Understanding requirements development and experience using requirements management tools, such as DOORS.
- Understanding of designing system architectures and experience using architecture development tools, such as Cameo, Enterprise Architect or Rational Suite.
Responsibilities
- Serve as technical leader of small to medium engineering development teams.
- Perform full life cycle systems engineering tasks including system requirements analysis, definition, architecture design, trade studies, integration, verification and validation (V&V), formal testing, and software installation.
- Work with department systems engineering subject matter experts to solve critical technical problems with innovative solutions.
- Experience with on-site customer software installation and systems integration along with leading formal software qualification tests and demonstrations.
- Understanding of requirements development and experience using requirements management tools, such as DOORS.
- Understanding of designing system architectures and experience using architecture development tools, such as Cameo, Enterprise Architect or Rational Suite.
- Understanding of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the systems engineering field (ISO/IEC/IEEE).

- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- DoD Clearance: Secret
- This position does require some travel to customer sites as needed.
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.
