A state government agency needs to modernize and transform its technology systems and applications in support of their disaster recovery grants management mission
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in leading and architecting enterprise software systems
- 10+ years of experience with building web-based enterprise systems
- 10 + years of experience with relevant programming languages and platforms, such as Java, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Appian Expression Language, SAIL, SQL
- 7+ years of application architecture or product development experience
- Experience with modern software design leading to highly testable systems
- Experience designing and implementing integrations between the Appian platform and external systems, applications, other cloud-based platforms, and external databases using RESTful APIs
- Experience with software development working in Agile and Scaled Agile teams
Responsibilities
- Translate business needs into application solution architecture requirements, making frequent use of diagrams to help communicate with broad audiences
- Inform the balance of security, tech debt, feature, and defect work
- Estimate the budgetary impact of solution architecture alternatives
- Evolve the team’s capabilities toward high-performing DevSecOps practices within the Agile framework
- Work with teams to help support and drive future development of the platform while coordinating and prioritizing the needs of existing programs and outcomes
- Evaluate legacy and current applications, architecture, database design, etc. to make recommendations on improvements in design, performance, and quality
- Ensure solutions are developed and packaged in an easily consumable and repeatable way for customers and internal technical teams

- US Citizenship required due to contract requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or other related scientific or technical disciplines
- Excellent planning, coordination, communication skills, and the ability to work with teams
- Ability to travel to the Baton Rouge, LA area
- Must be able to obtain authority to operate (ATO) and have intelligent discussions around NIST recommendations and security controls
