CIBC is looking to build a relationship-oriented bank for the modern world and needs a Senior Technology Architect to shape the bank's future technology landscape, drive transformation, enhance client experience, and ensure compliance with regulatory, data management, and security standards.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in software design and architecture in addition to 5+ years within financial services, focusing on banking, payments, or lending.
- Strong understanding of data management principles including data modeling, data warehousing, data integration, data governance.
- Experience with cloud-native solutions, containerization, and public cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS).
- Experience with both bespoke and vendor platforms (FIS an asset), and combinations thereof.
- Experience within enterprise architecture (TOGAF, BIAN, or related), system design, application development, and operational resilience.
- Advanced knowledge of software architecture, microservices, API integrations (including open banking/finance), messaging frameworks (ex MQ, Kafka,etc) and data management and analytics platforms.
- Certified professional with TOGAF 9; Azure or AWS related certifications; CISSP or equivalent certification is an asset.
Responsibilities
- Design scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions for core banking, payments, lending, investment products, and digital platforms.
- Establish and maintain architectural standards, patterns, and documentation.
- Evaluate and recommend technologies to improve system performance and scalability.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, data management and security standards in all designs.
- Develop strategies to mitigate risks and enhance cybersecurity and operational resilience.
- Define and execute architecture aligned with strategic business objectives.
- Create a comprehensive data strategy aligned with the organization's overall business strategy.

- Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to work in a hybrid work arrangement with 1-3 days per week on-site and other days remote.
