Aurora is looking to solve the problem of safely, quickly, and broadly delivering the benefits of self-driving technology, specifically focusing on hardware/software integration and calibration software for sensor calibration in autonomous vehicles.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years experience as a Technical Program Manager, Product Manager, or Engineering Manager, in an autonomous systems, robotics, embedded systems, or software development environment.
- Familiarity with sensor calibration, automotive OEM partnerships, and contract manufacturing is highly desirable.
- Solid technical aptitude and an ability to understand technical designs, software development lifecycle, challenges and risks; ability to work closely with engineers.
- Strong experience in project management; practical familiarity with both Agile and Waterfall methodologies and ability to apply them where best suited.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Math, Information Systems or a related area, or the equivalent in experience with evidence of exceptional ability preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to adjust communication based on audience.
Responsibilities
- Partner tightly with Hardware, Firmware, and Software engineering leaders to drive successful execution and delivery of vehicle and sensor calibration systems.
- Develop detailed credible engineering plans for software that scales our calibration approaches across multiple generations, multiple factories, and an increasingly large fleet.
- Define the end-to-end software lifecycle from a calibration perspective including: product conception, hardware manufacturing, OEM integration, and sensor servicing for on-road operations.
- Collaborate closely with our OEM team and vehicle OEM partners to understand each factory's requirements, agree on mutual time plans, and deliver a calibration approach which makes each vehicle program successful.
- Engage Hardware Operations teams to pilot and support the latest calibration technology to upfit and keep our next generation engineering fleets running well.
- Proactively identify and remove obstacles to unblock team execution and balance competing priorities, escalating when necessary to maintain momentum and clear roadblocks.
- Serve as a go-to resource for information and up-to-date status for relevant programs including facilitating regular executive program reviews.

- Travel up to 25%, including international travel, expected to support Aurora Driver Kit manufacturing and OEM integration plants.
