Northwestern Mutual is looking to solve the problem of managing complex, cross-functional technical digital product solutions that span multiple technical products, by hiring a program manager to drive the technical delivery plans and ensure successful outcomes.
Requirements
- Experience managing large scale, cross-functional initiatives using a variety of delivery methodologies (i.e. waterfall, agile, lean, scrum, etc.) and SDLC (systems development life cycle)
- Portfolio management and maintenance experience, including epics oversight.
- Understanding of how software is developed, tested and implemented as well as technical concepts.
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills and high attention to details and data.
- Intellectual curiosity and a desire to dig into details, learn, ask questions and become the 'go to expert' on certain concepts and topics.
- Ability to work closely with stakeholders, including engineers, product managers and business leaders.

- Accountability for defining the program structure and creating a single, unified plan to deliver on the program objectives.

- Accountability for identifying, assessing and mitigating program risks and issues, and removing impediments.
- Lead highly visible multidisciplinary project teams or initiatives; provides thought leadership
- Solve unique problems with broad impact on the business, using conceptual and innovative thinking to develop solutions.
Other
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
- Four or more years of program management experience in technology and/or business functions.
