At U.S. Bank, the business problem is to improve quality, accelerate delivery, and foster a culture of engineering excellence within business line automation testing initiatives by defining and evolving the test automation strategy, owning the automation product backlog and roadmap, and leading the development and maintenance of scalable automation frameworks and tools.

Requirements

  • Expertise on the critical interdependencies among product model system elements that help and hinder performance; ability to plan and design solutions that synchronize resources to achieve business results using business metrics, key performance indicators design systems, service blueprints, and reusability
  • Technical know-how understands the product technical architecture and understands the economics of technical investments
  • Demonstrates deep understanding of target customer through internal/external research (e.g., creation of personas, story maps, product chartering/mapping experience)
  • Strong collaboration with software engineers to execute product vision and roadmap
  • Proven experience with UI, Mobile and API automation tools. Examples include Selenium, Appium, Cypress, Playwright, Test NG, JMeter). Scripting languages including BDD/TDD and DevOps practices.
  • Exposure to mainframe test automation tools.
  • Strong understanding of agile methodologies, SDLC, and DevOps practices.

Responsibilities

  • Define and evolve the test automation strategy aligned with business line goals and product roadmaps.
  • Own the automation product backlog and roadmap, prioritizing high-impact features and capabilities.
  • Align automation initiatives with broader technical product lines and enterprise architecture.
  • Guide and inspire strong coding practices and sound software design decisions across automation teams.
  • Lead the development and maintenance of scalable automation frameworks and tools.
  • Ensure automation solutions meet performance, reliability, and security standards.
  • Oversee the creation and execution of comprehensive test plans, performance tests, and test data strategies.
