Caterpillar's IPSD validation team is seeking a Senior Test & Validation Engineer to ensure Caterpillar engines and engine systems meet performance, quality, reliability, and durability requirements through engine validation tests.
Requirements
- Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of technical problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
- Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
- Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors
- Knowledge of a given technology and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges.
- Knowledge of product testing approaches, techniques and tools; ability to design, plan and execute testing strategies and tactics to ensure product quality at all stages of manufacturing.
Responsibilities
- Lead the engine testing team with a focus on non-structural engine validation, ensuring tests are executed efficiently and aligned with project objectives.
- Guide the team in selecting appropriate testing approaches, tools, and techniques to maintain high standards of quality and accuracy.
- Estimate testing costs and timelines to support effective project planning and resource allocation.
- Continuously improve testing processes to enhance reliability, reduce costs, and increase operational efficiency.
- Identify and implement new technologies and methodologies to drive innovation and improve test outcomes.
- Conduct both structural and non-structural engine tests, ensuring adherence to safety and performance standards.
- Prepare test parts and instrumentation, including the design and documentation of specially instrumented components

- Requires a degree in an accredited Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science curriculum or equivalent experience working in an Engineering function.
