Requirements
- Strong knowledge of country-of-origin determination regulations and HTSUS classification
- In-depth knowledge of international trade laws, regulations, and practices.
- Proficiency in trade compliance software and tools.
- Professional certification in trade compliance is a plus.
- Experience in a multinational corporation or consulting firm
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and people skills.
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with all applicable international trade laws and regulations, including customs regulations that relate to various US Trade Remedies/Tariffs (Sec. 301, ADD/CVD, etc.)
- Analyze supplier manufacturing processes, bills of materials, and supply chains to support country of origin in accordance with US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations.
- Conduct assessments, utilizing sourcing knowledge to understand component origins, value-add, and assembly operations.
- Maintain robust documentation supporting origin determinations, including supplier certifications, contracts, and process flows.
- Advise procurement and sourcing teams on trade compliance risks and opportunities related to supplier selection, sourcing changes, and new product introductions.
- Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to address CBP inquiries, audits, and requests for binding rulings.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure adherence to compliance standards.
Other
- Bachelor’s degree in international business, Supply Chain Management, procurement, or a related field.
- 5-7 years of experience in trade compliance, customs, or related field with a focus on US regulations.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
