ASSYST is seeking a UI/UX Designer to improve the accessibility, usability, and responsiveness of a State client's eligibility systems.
Requirements
- 11 Years (Required) Hands-on experience designing user interfaces and experiences for enterprise systems, including wireframes, prototypes, and visual hierarchies using tools like Figma, Adobe XD, and Sketch.
- 11 Years (Required) Demonstrated ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical teams, translating business needs into intuitive design solutions that align with accessibility and branding standards.
- 10 Years (Required) Experience applying UX design principles such as hierarchy, contrast, and alignment to create responsive and accessible web and mobile interfaces.
- 10 Years (Required) Experience creating wireframes and prototypes that support agile development cycles, including sketch-to-visual fidelity transitions.
- 5 Years (Preferred) Experience designing graphical diagrams and visual narratives to communicate timelines, workflows, and system architecture.
- 3 Years (Preferred) Demonstrated ability to facilitate design workshops and feedback sessions with stakeholders, ensuring alignment with business goals and user needs.
- 3 Years (Preferred) Strong multitasking skills with the ability to manage multiple design streams across concurrent work effort.
Responsibilities
- Lead user research initiatives and journey mapping to gain deep insights into user interactions and identify opportunities for optimization.
- Develop wireframes, prototypes, and visual hierarchies in accordance with established accessibility guidelines and branding standards.
- Collaborate with Code for America and cross-functional teams to apply industry best practices in UI/UX design.
- Engage in discovery workshops, feedback sessions, and sprint planning to ensure that design decisions are aligned with business objectives.
- Employ a comprehensive suite of tools—including Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, and Hotjar—and implement usability testing, responsive design, and SEO optimization strategies.
- Experience with AI/ML Interfaces: Demonstrated experience designing user interfaces for systems that incorporate Artificial Intelligence or Machine Learning, with a focus on explainable AI (XAI) and human-AI interaction principles.
- Data Visualization: Skill in presenting complex data and AI insights in a clear, concise, and understandable visual format.
Other
- Position will be 2 days remote with 3 days (Mon, Tues & Thurs) required to be ONSITE.
- Program will only allow candidates who are LOCAL TO THE AUSTIN AREA ONLY (Within 50-mile radius).
