RVO Health is seeking a Senior UX Researcher to uncover deep user insights and guide the design of digital and service touchpoints for a Clinical (Coach or Care) weight-loss program, aiming to deliver safe, effective, and engaging experiences for members/patients.
Requirements
- 5-8 years (depending on exact level) of UX research experience in digital product environments
- Demonstrated mastery of a wide variety of research methods (qualitative + quantitative): e.g., interviews, focus groups, diary/ethnographic studies, usability testing, surveys, A/B or controlled experiments.
- Ability to translate research into actionable, strategic recommendations and influence non-research stakeholders (product, design, clinical, marketing).
- Strong storytelling and presentation skills—able to craft compelling narratives from research and communicate to senior leadership.
- Experience working in cross-functional teams (product, design, eng, behavioral science, analytics) and in agile or lean product development environments.
- Understanding of health-/behavior-change contexts (weight loss, diet/ nutrition programs, lifestyle change), user motivations around health/weight, clinical/medical settings is a strong plus.
- Familiarity with accessibility standards and principles, and sensitivity to inclusive design (i.e., diverse body types, age groups, accessibility needs).
Responsibilities
- Lead and design UX research studies across the product/service lifecycle: from discovery of unmet needs, through prototype concept testing, to post-launch optimization (e.g., interviews, ethnography, diary studies, usability testing, surveys, A/B tests).
- Partner with designers, product managers, behavioral-science and clinical teams to frame the right research questions (especially around behavior change, adherence, health outcomes).
- Synthesize qualitative and quantitative data into actionable insights: personas, journey maps, empathy maps, opportunity frameworks, design principles.
- Work with analytics/data teams to integrate quantitative insights (e.g., retention/drop-off, feature adoption) with qualitative findings to tell a coherent story.
- Present research findings to cross-functional stakeholders and senior leadership—translate insights into recommendations that influence roadmap, design, and business strategy.
- Help establish or improve research frameworks, repositories, tools, and best practices (especially in a regulated health/weight-loss context).
- Ensure design and research work is sensitive to health-behavior change levers, clinical protocols, regulatory/privacy constraints (HIPAA, accessibility, Trauma Informed Research, data privacy).
Other
- We expect employees to work from our South Charlotte office Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday each week.
- You are welcome to work remotely Mondays and Fridays if you wish.
- Continuously advocate for the member or patient throughout the organization — ensuring that designs and services support real needs, especially for a diverse audience (weight-loss, behavioral change, possibly medically-supervised).
- Portfolio of research work showing end-to-end involvement (from question framing → study execution → insights → impact)
- We do not provide visa sponsorship for this role at this time.
