These products empower both users and moderators to keep Reddit safe, authentic, and welcoming—at a scale few platforms can match. There are 100,000+ communities on Reddit, each with its own culture and needs and your research will directly shape the experience for millions of users every day. This role will support teams that improve reporting experiences, scale ML capabilities, and automate actioning with an ultimate goal of reducing harmful actions and unwanted behavior and thereby ensuring a safer experience for all Reddit users, including our admin and enforcement teams.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience conducting UX research.
  • A portfolio that demonstrates expertise in qualitative and quantitative research methods (or both), including when and how to apply them during each product development phase.
  • Experience leading strategy within large and diverse cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Design and execute high-quality, high-impact qualitative and quantitative research studies, focusing on a mix of foundational, generative work and evaluative work.
  • Drive communication and collaboration with cross-functional partners, including engineering, data science, design, product/program management, etc.
  • Drive product strategy across product pillars via actionable insights.
  • Drive organizational strategy through a deep understanding of complex systems + workflows.
  • investigate user behavior and needs using both qualitative and quantitative methods (including semi-structured interviews, focus groups, surveys, and behavioral analysis)
  • design and conduct foundational and evaluative research that guides executive decision-making.

  • Detail-oriented and able to work independently.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Can prioritize time between multiple projects, and be flexible, adapting to changing priorities.
  • Masters or Ph.D. in Statistics, Behavioral Science, Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, related fields, or equivalent experience.
  • Prior experience in trust and safety space.
