Singular Genomics is looking for a technology leader to develop core software and computational technologies for their novel G4 benchtop sequencer and PX instrument, aiming to reshape the future of genomics.
Requirements
- 10+ years of leadership experience in software or computational biology, with a proven ability to manage diverse technical teams.
- Experience in life sciences, diagnostics, healthcare, or a similarly complex, data-rich industry.
- Track record of delivering production-quality software, ideally spanning embedded systems, cloud/web apps, and computational pipelines.
- Experience working in Agile environments with modern engineering practices (e.g., CI/CD, DevOps, test automation).
- Experience with scientific computing, instrument software, and/or bioinformatics is a strong plus.
- Familiarity with regulated environments (e.g., ISO, FDA, CE-IVD) is a bonus.
Responsibilities
- Set and execute the technical strategy for all software and algorithmic components of our product portfolio.
- Lead cross-functional teams responsible for instrument firmware, control systems, image processing, bioinformatics algorithms and web applications.
- Responsible for the full development lifecycle, from design and architecture through deployment, scaling, and support.
- Drive the development of external customer facing web applications.
- Support the internal systems utilized for data analysis and operational insights.
- Build and scale modern DevOps infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines.
- Lead build-vs-buy decisions and manage outsourced software partnerships.

- This position can be remote or on-site. If remote, travel to the headquarters in San Diego, CA will be required at least quarterly.
