Lead the development and optimization of advanced vision and robotic systems, driving automation initiatives to enhance efficiency and reliability in manufacturing for GM.
Requirements
- Experience with the design, build and start-up of manufacturing systems
- Experience with design, set up, and debug of vision systems for error proofing, robot guidance or part quality.
- Experience with the design and build of machine vision in manufacturing systems, including equipment selection and lighting techniques
- Experience deploying machine vision in manufacturing systems, including software tuning and adjustment for optimal performance
- Experience with Matrox Design Assistant Software and other machine vision programming software.
- Experience with Industrial communication protocols and networking strategies
- AIA Certified Vision Professional – Basic or Advanced Certification
Responsibilities
- Review manufacturing system requirements and design robust vision and robotics applications
- New robot program implementation/execution (SOR prep, forecasting, controls/robotics design, equipment build/run-off and buyoff)
- Provide design, construction, integration, and plant installation support for vision and robotics systems including error proofing, robot guidance and part quality.
- Provide vision system hardware and software designs including vision equipment devices, power distribution, I/O networks, software, and cost estimating.
- Specify vision system components, functional requirements and integration methods.
- Evaluate and validate new vision technologies for use in manufacturing plants.
- Provide support for: plant vision issues, new equipment startup, troubleshooting, reprogramming, diagnostic equipment usage, and interfacing with skilled trades personnel.

- This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Orion, MI on a full-time basis.
