Riot Games is looking to solve the challenge of delivering lasting sonic experiences for players through the use of voice-over design, enhancing character expression, narrative, and player connection in their games, cinematics, esports, and more.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in game audio, with significant focus on voice-over design, editing, systems, and implementation, preferably in a competitive multiplayer environment.
- Proven expertise in the full VO production pipeline, from initial project conception to final in-game integration.
- Strong proficiency working in digital audio workstations such as Pro Tools, Reaper, Nuendo, etc.
- Strong proficiency with industry-standard DSP tools and plug-ins.
- Deep experience using audio middleware (Wwise, Fmod, etc.) and implementing assets in modern game engines.
- Scripting abilities (e.g., Python, C, or similar) to prototype, automate, or ideate interactive dialogue systems.
- Experience developing and maintaining VO pipelines, tools, and standards for large-scale game productions.
Responsibilities
- Drive the design and execution of dynamic, reactive multiplayer dialogue systems that enhance gameplay clarity, character expression, and player experience.
- Design and implement advanced VO systems across game engines and audio middleware.
- Leverage creative processing and design techniques to deliver distinctive, emotionally resonant voice effects.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with narrative, design, art, engineering, and creative leadership to drive a cohesive creative vision for how voice brings characters and worlds to life.
- Collaborate with voice talent and directors to deliver performances that are emotionally grounded, tonally consistent, and deeply connected to gameplay context.
- Act as a force-multiplier to elevate the team through mentoring peers, codifying best practices, and advancing the craft of voice-over design at Riot.
- Advocate for audio and player experience, ensuring VO has the creative influence, tools, and resources to deliver world-class results.

- Occasional local travel in the LA area may be required for recording sessions.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across narrative, design, and production disciplines.
- Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives concurrently.
- Experience directing professional voice actors in recording sessions.
- Familiarity with designing and maintaining dialogue systems and workflows within live-service development pipelines.
