Applied Information Sciences (AIS) is seeking a Web Application Developer to design and build dynamic web applications in support of Information Technology (IT) projects, aiming to enhance user experiences, improve system functionality, and align web applications with organizational goals, while also solving emerging national security challenges by developing secure, scalable, and resilient web solutions.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of web-based technologies and web development frameworks.
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and front-end libraries such as React or Angular.
  • Experience with design software such as Photoshop, Illustrator, or other relevant applications.
  • Knowledge of back-end technologies (e.g., Node.js, Python, PHP) and database management (e.g., SQL, NoSQL) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop websites and web applications using a variety of graphics software, development tools, and programming techniques.
  • Create and enhance user interface (UI) features, site animations, and special effects elements to improve engagement.
  • Develop and implement web solutions that support the organization’s communication strategies and goals.
  • Ensure cross-browser compatibility, mobile responsiveness, and adherence to accessibility standards.
  • Maintain and update existing web applications, troubleshooting and resolving technical issues as needed.
  • Stay up to date with emerging web technologies, industry trends, and best practices.

  • Collaborate with the design team to refine the look and feel of the organization’s online presence.
  • Strong understanding of web-based technologies and web development frameworks.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience.
  • Must be local to the Washington, DC area as on-site work will be required.
  • Active/Current Top Secret clearance required; TS/SCI and polygraph eligible holders are highly encouraged to apply.
