Booz Allen Hamilton is seeking a Sensor Scientist to support the development of new sensor technologies and sensor data analytical methods for energy applications, such as creating three-dimensional maps of critical mineral deposits. The role involves advising clients on R&D programs and informing them about emerging sensor technology needs.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience authoring technical papers, reports, or program plans for technical and non-technical audiences on research pertaining to sensors or sensor data analysis
- 2+ years of experience in postdoctoral, academic, or industry roles related to subsurface imaging, borehole logging, core assaying, geophysical characterization, quantum sensors, or artificial intelligence for analyzing sensor data
Responsibilities
- support the development of new sensor technologies and sensor data analytical methods for a range of energy applications, such as creating three-dimensional maps of critical mineral deposits
- providing advice and guidance on the design, evaluation, and management of government and private sector sponsored Research and Development (R&D) programs
- help inform our clients about emerging sensor technology needs
- engage and collaborate with a group of technology experts to leverage rapidly maturing technologies from other sectors to further energy technology development

- Ability to travel up to 15% of the time
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements
- Doctorate degree in a Physical Science field
- Experience in a consulting or advisory role
- Ability to demonstrate creativity and resourcefulness when dealing with uncertainty and ask insightful questions that challenge traditional thinking
