Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Manager 2 to lead the Sentinel Program’s Manufacturing Engineers (ME) supporting the development of the Command and Launch (C&L) Segment equipment. This role involves managing a team of engineers to execute specific SOWs, ensuring producibility analysis, manufacturing plans, work instructions, and supplier capability assessments are performed effectively to meet program requirements and reporting needs.
Requirements
- 1 years of experience with DoD weapon system conceptual and preliminary design, particularly related to design analysis cycles, cost versus capability trade studies, and multi-discipline design integration
- At least 1 year leading a project and/or driving performance against schedule.
- Demonstrated experience leading a technical and complex program effort, driving MFG through EMD phase to help mature our processes and product deliveries
- 5 years of experience with Land Based Missile Systems modification deployment programs
- 3 years of experience with Land Based Missile Systems modification deployment programs
- 3 years of experience with DoD weapon system conceptual and preliminary design, particularly related to design analysis cycles, cost versus capability trade studies, and multi-discipline design integration
- Prior experience with ICBM Command and Launch mechanical, electrical and electronic systems
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the C&L IPT Manufacturing Lead to assess SOW requirements for the execution of Sentinel program requirements related to Manufacturing/Manufacturing Engineering for the various electronics and structures SOWs
- Develop, coordinate and drive accurate and executable resource plans, work plans and associated Visibility Metrics aligning with the Sentinel Integrated Master Schedule
- Provide guidance, direction and training for the team of Manufacturing Engineers who are executing the SOW requirements
- Have an in-depth understanding of ME processes, including developing work instructions, lean manufacturing principles and execution to effectively drive resolution of production issues, conduct root cause analysis and present regular reports to management
- Collaborate across the ME Team to ensure consistency in the use of Digital Engineering processes, tools and methods for accomplishing the development work leading to Production
- Establish milestones and monitor adherence to master plans and schedules, identify program opportunities for improvement and obtain solutions as applicable
- Conduct assessments of team member’s performance related to team and individual goals

- Must have an Active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with an ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need
