Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Sr Principal Engineer Embedded Software - AVE GN&C Software to lead a team of GN&C Software Systems Engineers in the planning, execution, tracking, and technical problem solving of Software Requirements and Design (CSSAM/RVAM) as part of a larger AVE GN&C Software Development group.
Requirements
- 5 Yrs of experience with Agile, Git, GitLab, or Bitbucket and working in cross-functional Scrum team
- 5 Yrs of experience leading Software Engineering teams
- 5 Yrs of experience in software development using languages such as C/C++, Python
- 5 Yrs of experience with MBSE, software design & requirement management
- 5 Yrs of experience with software lifecycle: specification, design, implementation, integration, debug, and maintenance
- 1 Yr of experience as a Work Package Lead (WPL) tracking and managing schedule and performance
- Experience with DO-178C Flight Critical Systems Safety programming
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of GN&C Software Systems Engineers in the planning, execution, tracking, and technical problem solving of Software Requirements and Design (CSSAM/RVAM)
- Plan, execute, and manage the technical scope, and support leadership planning
- Direct software/system architecture decisions and develop command and control software
- Track and manage schedule and performance as a Work Package Lead (WPL)
- Develop and implement software design & requirement management using MBSE
- Implement and maintain software lifecycle: specification, design, implementation, integration, debug, and maintenance
- Collaborate in a team setting to achieve technical goals
Other
- Must be a US Citizen with an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time
- Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 8 years of related experience
- Travel: Yes, 10% of the Time
