Municipal Emergency Services, Inc. (MES) is seeking a Service Technician (Air Products - SCBA) to ensure that Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) equipment used by firefighting personnel is in optimal condition and ready for use during emergencies.
Requirements
- Knowledge of safety regulations, NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) standards, and manufacturer-specific guidelines for SCBA equipment, preferably Scott/3M.
- Sound computer skills are essential.
- Prior experience in servicing and maintaining SCBA equipment is highly desirable but not required.
- Additional technical training or certification related to SCBA equipment maintenance and repair is preferred but not required.
- Experience in servicing and maintaining HVAC equipment/systems, Small engine repair, Firefighting equipment, Hydraulics, Cabling is preferred.
- Mechanical knowledge: 3 years (Preferred)
- Field Service Technician: 3 years (Preferred)
Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections and functional checks of 3M/Scott Safety SCBA and SCBA-related equipment to verify their readiness and compliance with safety regulations and standards.
- Conduct maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on 3M/Scott Safety SCBA and SCBA-related equipment, replacing worn or damaged components to ensure proper functionality.
- Conduct tests on Scott/3M SCBA units, such as pressure tests, airflow tests, and leak tests, to verify that they meet or exceed manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
- Maintain detailed records of all inspection, maintenance, and repair activities, including equipment condition, parts replaced, and testing results.
- Calibrate and adjust SCBA equipment to ensure accurate readings and safe operation.
- Train end-users and other personnel on the proper use, care, and maintenance of SCBA equipment.
- Manage spare parts and replacement components inventory, ensuring adequate stock for repairs and maintenance.
