Quonset Point facility in North Kingstown, RI needs Level II UT Shear Wave Inspectors to perform UT volumetric inspection duties in various areas throughout the facility
Requirements
- Current or previous certification (within last 2 years) as Level II UT Shear Wave
- Knowledge of shipboard assemblies, installations and foundations
- Previous NDT schooling/training is a plus
- Previous NDT Methods MT, PT, ET
- Ability to interpret technical manuals, shipyard procedures, test documents, diagrams and understand basic layout functions
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Basic mathematical skills
Responsibilities
- perform UT volumetric inspection duties in the various areas throughout the facility
- perform ultrasonic inspection on welds, parts, components in various areas including on the hull sections
- verify and certify work is complete and satisfactory according to specifications
- record and report inspection results
- interpret technical manuals, shipyard procedures, test documents, diagrams and understand basic layout functions
- read and interpret blueprints
- perform visual, dimensional and other nondestructive test attributes
Other
- Must possess basic communication and interpersonal skills
- Must be able to work all shifts, weekends and overtime as required
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance through the department of defense
- High school diploma/GED
- Ability to communicate effectively with their management team and peers
