KNAPP is looking for a Shift Engineering Manager to provide industrial Electrical/Mechanical expertise and leadership/oversight to maximize equipment utilization and efficiency for their automated solutions.
Requirements
- application of knowledge of; electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automated equipment, including the utilization of 480vac, 240vac, 120vac, and 48vdc, 24vdc, VFDs, and PLCs (Siemens preferred.)
- Interpret and work with electrical and pneumatic circuit diagrams
- Utilize appropriate health & safety considerations and be able to perform risk assessments for maintenance tasks
- Demonstrate proficient mechanical aptitude including, but not limited to, reading assembly drawings
- Follow set-up instructions, assembly drawings, and check lists
- Requires functional computer literacy with intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office experience
- Provide flexibility and the best use-of-skills and capabilities to perform the functions of the role
Responsibilities
- Lead your team to rectify software and electro-mechanical faults, resolve PLC related issues, provide guidance and expertise, be the resident subject matter expert on shift, and provide aid to customer’s sites in assigned area
- Respond to emergency calls at customer site(s).
- Provide emergency breakdown and specialized maintenance support
- Set up and calibrate precision automated equipment
- Expertise in the installation of conveyors and precision automated equipment
- Provide specialized maintenance service support for the customer’s installed system
- Provide; mechanical strip-down and reassembly, basic field wiring, machine calibration, and system testing, as needed

- Lead your team by providing first-class maintenance and system support to our customers.
- Manage operations and maintenance of automated storage and retrieval systems and picking systems installed at the customer’s location(s).
- The Shift Engineering Manager will be eager and determined to succeed, and safety-conscious in all activities undertaken.
- Will own problems and see them through to successful completion.
- Ability to work 12 hour shifts on weekdays and weekends
