Forterra is looking to solve the problem of building systems that protect front-line soldiers and enable civilian workers in the industrial base by developing autonomous systems for ground-based movement.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of fundamental math and physics principles: calculus, vehicle dynamics, forces, equations of motion, etc.
- Comfortable working in a Linux environment
- Experience and working knowledge of simulation for robotics and autonomous vehicle testing
- Ability to navigate a large code base and understand autonomy architecture at a high level
- Understanding of multi-threaded and asynchronous software models
- Experience with SOTIF standard ISO 21448, automotive industry safety standard ISO 26262, and/or MILSTD882E
- Demonstrated experience in Python and C++
Responsibilities
- Generate simulation capabilities to validate requirements and performance metrics
- Report on the simulation’s performance against the validation metrics and work closely with the simulation software team to resolve any issues or gaps in performance
- Automate and streamline the reporting of verification and validation metrics to increase feedback frequency
Other
- BS degree or greater in Computer Science
- At least 3 years of experience as a software developer or tester
- Excellent communication skills, initiative and ability to effectively gather any needed data from other engineers
- Exceptional documentation and communication skills
- US work authorization required
