Visa's Operations & Infrastructure division needs to provide outstanding infrastructure services that are secure, scalable, and continuously available. The Product Reliability Engineering (PRE) Tech team aims to improve the efficiency and productivity of engineers by building and running tools and systems for code iteration, testing, and deployment.
Requirements
- Proficiency in at least one programming language including, but not limited to, Python, Java, JavaScript, .NET, HTML, and C++
- Experience with one or more scripting languages: Unix Shell, Perl, Python, or PowerShell knowledge
- Solid understanding of Linux/Windows systems, and database and networking concepts
- Theoretical knowledge of cloud and container technologies (Kubernetes, etc.)
- Working knowledge of GenAI and agentic workflows
- Familiarity with fundamental SQL/MongoDB queries and procedures
- Solid understanding of software engineering concepts and methodologies
Responsibilities
- Participate in day-to-day site reliability engineering functions, including maintenance, deployment, and incident resolution for all in-scope products and services.
- Perform routine application maintenance including host file updates, log rotation, and shell scripting for common tasks.
- Contribute to ongoing/proactive analysis of applicable systems and applications to detect potential problems, with guidance (e.g. memory, logging, latency).
- Maintain and update 3rd party applications (Docker, Kubernetes, Apache Tomcat, WAS, IIS).
- Participate in root cause analysis and run the production environment by monitoring service availability.
- Provide primary operational support and engineering for multiple large-scale distributed software applications, with guidance.
- Troubleshoot issues reported by Visa clients and partners, providing timely and effective solutions.
Other
- Less than 6 months of relevant work experience with either Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, CIS/MIS, Cybersecurity, Business or a related field, graduating December 2025 - August 2026.
- Availability to support weekend on-call on a rotational schedule
- Strong communications skills, specifically, the absence of repeated grammatical or typographical errors, clear and concise written and spoken communications, and communications that demonstrate professional judgment
