Microsoft Defender is looking to build and deliver cloud solutions to protect millions of computers from active attack attempts, especially within government environments. The team needs to ensure the constant evolution of services and solutions to combat ever-changing attackers and maintain highly stable, performant services.

Responsibilities
- operate our production services
- work closely with other engineering teams to ensure services and systems are highly stable, meet performance SLAs, and meet the expectations of internal and external customers and users
- Make basic code changes to improve reliability, security, and observability
- engage in design/code reviews with guidance from senior engineers
- Troubleshoot issues during on-call, mitigate impact, and contribute to postmortem documentation and review meetings
- Use existing tools to identify and suggest fixes for recurring issues affecting performance, reliability, or efficiency
- Apply safe deployment practices and automation to manage configuration and data changes across product components
Other
- Associate's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field OR equivalent experience.
- Candidates must be able to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role.
- The successful candidate must have an active U.S. Government Top Secret Security Clearance.
- This position requires verification of U.S. citizenship due to citizenship-based legal restrictions.
- Participate in a regular on-call schedule to monitor service health, respond to incidents, and escalate complex issues as needed.
