Visa's Operations & Infrastructure division aims to provide secure, scalable, and continuously available infrastructure services. The Product Reliability Engineering (PRE) Tech team within this division seeks to enhance developer experience, efficiency, and productivity by building and maintaining tools and systems used by Visa's engineers for code iteration, testing, and deployment.
Requirements
- Proficiency in at least one programming language including, but not limited to, Python, Java, JavaScript, .NET, HTML, and C++
- Experience with one or more scripting languages: Unix Shell, Perl, Python, or PowerShell knowledge
- Solid understanding of Linux/Windows systems, and database and networking concepts
- Theoretical knowledge of cloud and container technologies (Kubernetes, etc.)
- Working knowledge of GenAI and agentic workflows
- Familiarity with fundamental SQL/MongoDB queries and procedures
- Solid understanding of software engineering concepts and methodologies
Responsibilities
- Participate in day-to-day site reliability engineering functions, including maintenance, deployment, and incident resolution for all in-scope products and services.
- Perform routine application maintenance including host file updates, log rotation, and shell scripting for common tasks.
- Contribute to ongoing/proactive analysis of applicable systems and applications to detect potential problems, with guidance (e.g. memory, logging, latency).
- Maintain and update 3rd party applications (Docker, Kubernetes, Apache Tomcat, WAS, IIS).
- Participate in root cause analysis and run the production environment by monitoring service availability.
- Provide primary operational support and engineering for multiple large-scale distributed software applications, with guidance.
- Troubleshoot issues reported by Visa clients and partners, providing timely and effective solutions.
