ByteDance's TIGE team is looking to enhance its edge cloud computing and CDN services by developing and managing advanced technologies to support billions of users, ensuring performance, compliance, security, and cost efficiency. The internship aims to provide students with industry exposure and hands-on experience in this domain.

Requirements

  • Experience with programming languages like Golang, Python, Java, C/C++, or similar.
  • Knowledge of algorithms and software development.
  • Background in networking, load balancing, distributed systems or large scale dynamic systems.
  • Knowledge of performance metrics, data/cost modeling and real-time systems.
  • System virtualization in VM, container, or networking.
  • Experience with kubernetes and cloud-native technologies.
  • AI platform, AI workload engine, or AI specific infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Researching and developing advanced algorithms or systems to enhance ByteDance's overseas infrastructure platform in reliability, performance, efficiency, resource allocation, and feature capability.
  • Working with our platform development teams to enrich the maturity of our content delivery system in order to support the rapid growth of ByteDance's products, e.g. TikTok, CapCut, Lemon8, etc.
  • Proposing and developing advanced and practical solutions to enhance our focused metrics like cost efficiency, traffic optimization, virtualization performance, as well as other more comprehensive metrics, like availability or stability, and resource efficiency.
  • Collaborate with a team and lead the full lifecycle of project development, including industry cutting-edge technology trend investigation, solution design, implementation, and validation.

  • Currently pursuing an advanced degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
  • Strong independent thinking, problem solving capability.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Must be able to commit to a 12-week full-time work period during Summer or Fall 2026.
