Susquehanna is seeking a Linux Engineer to design and build infrastructure for trading platforms, working closely with network engineers and software developers to create scalable systems. You'll optimize Linux infrastructure, including trading systems, research compute, databases, and support systems.
Requirements
- 5+ years of progressive experience building Linux based platforms.
- Familiarity with kernel-level and I/O subsystem tweaks and tools such as sysctl, strace, tcpdump, and netstat.
- Recent hands on experience with automation in Python or other tools.
Responsibilities
- Automate and Evolve: Contribute to our library of home-grown tools, written primarily in Python and Bash, utilizing tools such as Jenkins to automate bare-metal and virtual server deployments, monitoring, and maintenance, allowing you to focus on performance related issues and projects.
- Optimize: Tune operating systems for performance and network stacks for bandwidth or latency.
- Dive deep on root-cause analysis of systems issues.
- Innovate and Build: Design and develop complex infrastructure solutions that meet the demands of high performance and scalability using cutting-edge hardware, including servers, network switches, and storage systems.
- Collaborate: Work closely with Strategy Developers and Quantitative Researchers to understand business problems.
- Coordinate with network and storage teams to implement scalable solutions.
