The Division of Cardiovascular Medicine at Stanford University is seeking an individual to perform administrative and research duties for the Health Equity Advancement through Research and Technology (HEART) Lab, focusing on disparities in cardiovascular disease and prevention.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in data analyses programs such as R preferred.
  • General computer skills and ability to quickly learn and master computer programs.
  • Ability to work under deadlines with general guidance.
  • Excellent organizational skills and demonstrated ability to complete detailed work accurately.
  • Ability to work with human study participants.
  • Assist with IRB coordination and survey development in RedCap.
  • Use common statistical programs requiring the application of job control language in generating and organizing data.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and perform research tasks requiring initiative and judgment by applying basic knowledge and understanding of scientific theory when precedents do not provide specific guidance.
  • Participate in the development and administration of survey instruments and rating scales requiring judgment in applying non-routine procedures.
  • Analyze and summarize results for review with supervisor.
  • Audit the accuracy and validity of data.
  • Review and audit case report forms for completion and accuracy with source documents and ensure compliance with research protocols.
  • Identify, select, extract and summarize data and structured information.
  • Build and organize data as requested by principal investigator or supervisor; use common statistical programs requiring the application of job control language in generating and organizing data.

Other

  • A strong work ethic, excellent organization and interpersonal skills, and mastery of word/excel/powerpoint are required.
  • At least one year of experience in clinical/epidemiological research or equivalent (e.g. master's degree).
  • Strong organizational skills and excellent judgment.
  • Ability to handle a wide range of assignments and meet deadlines with minimal day-to-day instruction.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
