Manage and optimize Software AG ecosystem—primarily Adabas and Natural Security—with a focus on reliability, security, performance, and user enablement.
Requirements
- 8+ years’ experience administering Adabas databases and Natural Security (Software AG stack).
- Hands-on knowledge of CONNX or comparable Adabas data access tools (installation, configuration, user support).
- Proficiency with environment refreshes, backup/restore, performance tuning, scripting (Natural utilities).
- Experience implementing role-based access control, audits, and documentation.
- Familiarity with SDLC/change control and formal data dictionary maintenance.
- Experience with Software AG tools (NaturalONE, Predict, EntireX, DDM management).
- Exposure to capacity planning, platform modernization, performance engineering.
Responsibilities
- Maintain production, test, and development environments; monitor nightly backups; refresh lower environments as needed; manage DDMs and scripts.
- Configure security/authorization; ensure access changes are processed; perform audits; manage security requests.
- Evaluate and maintain Adabas data extraction tools (e.g., CONNX); design user catalogs; author training guides; assist users with query design.
- Manage schema/file modifications through dev/test/prod; maintain scripts and the data dictionary; ensure all database changes are documented.
- Research and implement new hardware/software solutions; perform upgrades to address vulnerabilities and maintain support.
- Contribute to business continuity and disaster recovery planning, testing, and response activities.
