The Wyoming Highway Patrol (WHP) Equipment Support Services Section needs a Software and Equipment Analyst to provide technical and operational support for the agency's technology, communications, and specialized equipment to ensure safety, reliability, and efficiency.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of all WHP car systems (vehicle, power distribution, emergency lighting, radio, computer/networking, and camera), computer systems, agency software and hardware, and inventory management is essential.
  • Must be able to work in all weather extremes.
  • Must be free of any firearm disqualifiers.
  • Ability to walk, stand, or sit for long periods.
  • Must obtain and maintain NCIC/CJIS system certification.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for maintaining and implementing hardware, software, and related systems that support Troopers in the field and agency operations statewide.
  • Support the agency through the development and delivery of training sessions on new and current equipment technology, handling field support calls, troubleshooting software, hardware, electrical, and mechanical issues within the fleet and equipment; they must obtain and maintain NCIC/CJIS system certification.
  • The primary contact for supporting Troopers, radio techs, and mechanics for system function, diagnostics, and repairs, requiring excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to answer calls both during and after business hours.
  • Includes assisting with equipment, property, supplies, repairs, and other associated inventory management duties.
  • Collaborate with the management of the WHP vehicle fleet, from coordinating deliveries, transfers, and maintenance, to shipping and receiving vehicles, and preparing them for, or decommissioning them from, operational use.

  • The AWEC must possess and maintain a Class A CDL to operate and deploy the WHP Command Bus in support of Agency critical and planned events.
  • Skills include strong organizational skills, independent judgment, accountability, confidentiality, and exceptional interpersonal abilities.
  • The primary contact for supporting Troopers, radio techs, and mechanics for system function, diagnostics, and repairs, requiring excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to answer calls both during and after business hours.
  • This is a full-time, at-will position.
