Amentum is seeking highly motivated Computer Engineers or Computer Science graduates to contribute to cutting-edge defense technology initiatives at the ground floor level for the U.S. Navy Advanced Research & Development Technology team
Requirements
- Knowledge of the full software development lifecycle, including requirements, design, coding, benchmark testing, debugging, architecture, and documentation
- Required background in C++ programming at the university level
- Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies is helpful
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical field
- Knowledge of software development
- Experience with software testing and troubleshooting
- Understanding of hardware and software integration
Responsibilities
- Testing and adjusting software graphical user interfaces (GUIs) for internal development tools in collaboration with a team of engineers
- Troubleshooting hardware and software interactions; accurately document findings and communicate identified issues
- Conducting and record testing steps to isolate faults and verify successful resolution of issues
- Supporting software development and update processes; assist in implementing user interface enhancements and improving software efficiency
- Participating in scheduled travel to support testing events and joint activities with government customers
- Following established procedures with precision regarding safety, security, and technical documentation
- Collaborating with R&D teams to develop innovative, integrated solutions for next-generation Navy systems
Other
- Must be able to obtain/maintain a Secret security clearance (at a minimum, must receive/be approved for an interim Secret security clearance in order to start)
- US Citizenship is required to obtain a SECRET Clearance
- Ability to commute or drive between Fredericksburg, VA and Dahlgren, VA as needed to meet job requirements (approximately one hour south of Washington, D.C.)
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical field
- No prior professional experience required
