Peraton is seeking a Software Architect to support the Space Force customer by migrating legacy capabilities into the AWS cloud and adding new capabilities for legacy applications and users, to increase immediate awareness and risks to DOD Infrastructure and Systems, and advance Space Weather Forecasting capabilities.
Requirements
- Proficiency in software development and coding across various languages such as: Java, JavaScript, C/C++, Python, FORTRAN, etc.
- Strong understanding of modeling and engineering methodologies such as Unified Modeling Language (UML) and of Department Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF).
- Experience designing modern applications optimized for deployment in an AWS Cloud environment.

Responsibilities
- Defining the technical patterns and implementation details for the development team to implement libraries, services, event driven processes, database, and user interface.
- Ensuring software meets all requirements of quality, security, modifiability, extensibility etc.
- Collaborating with staff scientists, legacy code decomposition architects, other software architects, development and test leads, infrastructure team, and scrum masters.
Other
- Associates degree with 10+ years of experience in a software engineering related field; OR bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of experience in a software engineering related field; OR a master's degree with 6+ years of experience in a software engineering related field.
- Minimum of 6+ years of progressive experience in software development, including at least 3 years as a Software Architect or IT Systems Architect.
- This position requires the candidate possess a minimum of Secret clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI should one be required.
- Active TS/SCI with the ability to work on-site as needed in Chantilly, VA; Colorado Springs, CO; or Melbourne, FL.
- Strong technical mindset with exceptional attention to detail, along with high-quality organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
