- Expert-level proficiency in designing, developing, and testing production-grade distributed systems software using Go, C++, or Java.
- Exceptional understanding of Kubernetes internals, including a track record of designing and implementing custom controllers, CRDs, and deep integration with the scheduler.
- Proven history of significant contributions to open-source projects, particularly within the virtualization or Kubernetes ecosystem (e.g., KubeVirt, libvirt, QEMU).
- Mastery of distributed systems concepts, software design patterns, and performance analysis, with an ability to apply them to large-scale, high-availability storage and virtualization solutions.
Responsibilities
- Architect and implement critical virtualization features within Portworx's Kubernetes-native storage offerings, focusing on performance, resilience, and scalability.
- Serve as a technical leader in the KubeVirt, libvirt, and QEMU ecosystems, driving and contributing to the design and implementation of VM lifecycle management and performance optimizations.
- Define technical roadmaps and lead the execution of complex engineering projects that blend advanced storage capabilities with cloud-native virtualization solutions.
- Mentor and elevate the engineering team on advanced virtualization architecture, distributed systems best practices, and sophisticated debugging techniques, acting as a force multiplier.
- Resolve the most complex and cross-functional virtualization and storage challenges across large-scale Kubernetes clusters, ensuring the highest level of product quality and customer experience.
