Arrowpoint is seeking a Software Asset Management Support Specialist to support the Army Materiel Command (AMC) and the G6 Chief Information Officer (CIO), providing comprehensive support and expertise in managing software assets. Their primary responsibility is to support the AMC CIO in the implementation, oversight, procurement, and maintenance of effective software asset management (SAM) processes, ensuring compliance with licensing agreements, optimizing software utilization, and driving cost efficiencies for the government.

Requirements

  • Proficient with Power BI; capable of designing, building, and maintaining reports, dashboards, and other business intelligence solutions using Power BI
  • Proven experience in software asset management, license compliance, and vendor management, preferably in a government or large enterprise environment
  • In-depth knowledge of software licensing models, contract terms, and procurement processes
  • Familiarity with software asset management tools and technologies, such as SAM tools, discovery tools, and license management systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex licensing terms and agreements
  • Knowledge of government regulations, policies, and security requirements related to software asset management

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and implementation of software asset management (SAM) policies, procedures, and best practices in accordance with government regulations and industry standards
  • Conduct regular audits and inventories to track software licenses, usage, and compliance across multiple government departments
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and software vendors to maintain accurate software asset inventory, including license entitlements, procurement records, and usage data
  • Provide guidance and support to end-users regarding software license compliance, usage restrictions, and optimal utilization of software resources
  • Perform license reconciliations and identify areas of non-compliance or potential license breaches, taking necessary corrective actions to mitigate risks
  • Assist in the negotiation and renewal of software licensing agreements, ensuring favorable terms and conditions for the government agencies
  • Generate reports and maintain documentation related to software assets, license agreements, compliance status, and cost optimization initiatives
