Capgemini is seeking an experienced Senior Cloud & HPC Engineer to accelerate research computing initiatives in the biotech and pharmaceutical sectors by designing and delivering scalable, secure, and efficient solutions for research workflows on cloud and High-Performance Computing (HPC) environments.
Requirements
- Expertise in Google Cloud Platform (BigTable, BigQuery, Cloud Run).
- Experience with HPC workflows and HPC-to-cloud migrations.
- Proficiency in Nextflow pipelines and cloud deployments.
- Strong DevOps skills: containerization, CI/CD, Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform).
- Advanced Python and shell scripting.
- Familiarity with big data tools (BigQuery optimization a plus).
- Java experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Design and maintain HPC and cloud-based workflows for biotech research.
- Migrate legacy HPC workflows to Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Develop and optimize CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and Azure DevOps.
- Implement Infrastructure-as-Code practices with Terraform.
- Collaborate to improve permission management, data access, and workflow automation.
- Establish engineering standards and best practices through: Standard containers, Library development, Workflow templates, and CI/CD pipelines
- Promote reproducibility and maintainability across research codebases.
Other
- 7+ years developing cloud solutions for biotech/biopharma or similar specialized industries.
- Provide ad-hoc engineering support and troubleshooting for scientists in UK and US East Coast time zones.
