The Naval Tactical Command Support System (NTCSS) requires a Software Configuration Release Management Specialist to ensure that software releases are controlled, documented, and delivered according to established procedures and standards, working closely with development, testing, and operations teams for seamless integration and deployment.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in version control systems such as Subversion (preferred)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Jira or similar issue tracking tools
  • Possess working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications i.e. Word, Excel, SharePoint, etc.
  • Familiarity with SBOM tools and compliance.
  • Possess a DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 certification or higher (ex. CompTIA Security+, Network +, CISSP) or capability to obtain within 6 months from hire.

Responsibilities

  • Manage CIs and ensure they are properly versioned and baselined.
  • Utilize version control systems (e.g., Subversion), media burning software, and ISO creation tools and media burning software (Roxio, CDBurner, etc.) for version control and media creation.
  • Execute the release process, including packaging, labeling, and distribution of software releases.
  • Ensure that all release components, including documentation and ancillary materials, are included.
  • Use Jira to log and manage change requests. Each change is to be tracked through its lifecycle from initiation to implementation and review.
  • Implement workflows in Jira to route change requests through necessary approval stages before implementation.
  • Generate, maintain, and verify the accuracy of SBOMs for all software components and dependencies.

  • Must have a secret clearance and must be able to obtain a T5 investigation clearance

  • Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills for coordination and stakeholders and documentation.
  • Collaborate with project managers, developers, and testers to define release schedules and content.
  • Ensure that release plans align with project milestones and stakeholder requirements.
