Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) needs to build and operate massive scale, integrated cloud services for its customers who are tackling major global challenges. The specific problem is to provide higher availability, more visibility, greater network security, better network performance and throughput, better capacity planning, root cause analysis, and prediction of failures for Oracle's global cloud network infrastructure by building a best-in-class cloud monitoring solution.
Requirements
- 3-5+ years of experience in software development
- 2+ years of experience in developing large scale distributed services/applications
- Proficiency with Java/Python/C++ and Object-Oriented programming
- Excellent knowledge of data structures, search/sort algorithms
- Knowledge of cloud computing & networking technologies including monitoring services
- Networking Management Technologies such as SNMP, Netflow, BGP Monitoring Protocol
- Exposure to Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Storm, open TSDB, Elastic Search or other distributed compute platforms
Responsibilities
- Design and develop software including automated test suites for major components in our Network Monitoring & Analytics Stack.
- Build complex distributed systems involving a huge amount of data handling - collecting metrics, building data pipelines, and analytics for real-time processing, online processing, and batch processing.
- Apply basic to intermediate knowledge of software architecture to perform software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications or operating systems according to provided design specifications.
- Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and occasionally suggest improvements to the architecture.
- Design, develop, test, and deliver cloud services.
