The Montana Department of Revenue is looking to solve technical problems related to their tax system, GenTax, and provide efficient administration of state taxes, property appraisals, and other services to the state of Montana and its citizens.
Requirements
- Knowledge of principles and practices of computer science
- Knowledge of functional applications, programming languages, and information systems enhancement and maintenance
- Knowledge of systems analysis, design, testing, documentation techniques, and procedures
- Knowledge of telecommunications and information systems networking
- Knowledge of data management products and data structures and interrelationships
- Proficiency in C-Sharp programming language
- Experience with Microsoft programs and other database applications
Responsibilities
- Programming, troubleshooting, and end user support for GenTax, the Department’s tax system
- Work with a team of developers to support GenTax
- Troubleshoot and determine the cause of errors in the system
- Build public facing forms that will be used by taxpayers
- Meet with stakeholders to discuss and develop software enhancements and fixes
- Test and deploy changes to the production environment
- Provide timely and accurate customer service to end users
Other
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, business, mathematics, engineering or closely related field
- Three years’ job-related work experience
- Demonstrate self-motivation and ability to follow instructions
