UN COMN is looking for a Software Developer 2 (Associate) to support the design, development, and maintenance of software solutions and applications, ensuring they are scalable, efficient, and meet business requirements and industry standards.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience required..
- Knowledge of project management (Scrum/Agile), documentation, and tools like Jira, Confluence, and/or ClearCase.
- Exposure to Java, JavaScript, Python, SQL, manual testing, and containerization technologies and concepts.
- Active Professional Scrum Master (PSM) or Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certification, or similar.
- Prior exposure to/experience with USTRANSCOM IT systems.
- Prior experience with Java, JavaScript, Python, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, MVC, jQuery, C-Sharp, ASP.NET, .NET Core in Visual Studio, Fortify, SQL, SQL Server, Psql, Oracle, RDS, DynamoDB, GIS, and/or Cross-Platform mobile development.
Responsibilities
- Support the design, development, and maintenance of software solutions and applications.
- Create high-quality software solutions that meet business requirements and industry standard, ensuring the software is scalable and efficient.
- Develop and conduct software testing to ensure the software is free from bugs and meets the client's design requirements.
- Manage customer requirements, work with their team to analyze, prioritize, and lead execution and acceptance of multiple tasks/projects at a time.
- Respond to escalated production support issues that cause work stoppage or operational problems with the system and ensure production system operates without interruption to functional users.
- Serve as Scrum Master to support the transition from Waterfall to Agile SDLC methodology, facilitating adoption of Agile practices and frameworks.

- Active Secret (or higher) clearance granted by the US Government.
- To meet (or exceed) DoD Cyber Workforce Framework (DCWF) certification/education requirements, interested candidates must have, or be highly motivated to obtain, a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in IT, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or Software Engineering or an active CSSLP, GSEC, GCLD CISSP-ISSAP, FITSP-D, GCSA, GISF, or SSCP certification.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, collaborate with team members, and engage with government leads.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills, paired with the ability to think strategically about complex technical challenges.
- Must be adaptable with the ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Must be willing to work onsite in the SAFB, IL area as needed to meet client needs and collaborate with team members.
