Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) needs to build and operate massive scale, integrated cloud services, and is looking for engineers to solve difficult problems in distributed highly available services and virtualized infrastructure. Specifically, the team is focused on building large-scale distributed monitoring & analytics solutions for the cloud to address customer needs for higher availability, visibility, network security, performance, throughput, capacity planning, root cause analysis, and failure prediction.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in software development
- 2+ years of experience in developing large scale distributed services/applications
- Proficiency with Java/Python/C++ and Object-Oriented programming
- Excellent knowledge of data structures, search/sort algorithms
- Knowledge of cloud computing & networking technologies including monitoring services
- Networking Management Technologies such as SNMP, Netflow, BGP Monitoring Protocol
- Exposure to Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Storm, open TSDB, Elastic Search or other distributed compute platforms
Responsibilities
- design and develop software including automated test suites for major components in our Network Monitoring & Analytics Stack.
- building complex distributed systems involving a huge amount of data handling - collecting metrics, building data pipelines, and analytics for real-time processing, online processing, and batch processing.
- Specify, design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs.
