Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) aims to provide high-performance, high availability, and cost-effective infrastructure services by combining public cloud elasticity with on-premises control. The Oracle Kubernetes Engine (OKE) team is responsible for building and enhancing the managed Kubernetes experience on OCI, supporting various internal and external customers with a large roadmap of features to enable new customer scenarios.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience delivering and operating large-scale, highly available distributed systems.
- 5+ years working in large Java or Golang codebases
- Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and distributed systems.
- Developing or managing containerized workloads using Kubernetes
- System and service management on Linux
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python, etc.
- Experience building multi-tenant, virtualized infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Design new features and systems for our customers.
- Work across teams to engineer the best system (for operations and customers) regardless of organizational boundaries or ownership.
- Independently debug, maintain, and improve existing systems, focusing especially on reducing operational burden and improving performance.
- Be a generalist who can debug issues across a wide breadth of our stack.
- Scale our systems by building tooling and automation.
- Work with partner teams outside our organization and externally with Oracle.
- Participate in an on-call shift to help address service issues, and respond to customer support escalations.
Other
- BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field involving coding or equivalent practical experience.
- Previous experience On Call experience
- Systematic problem-solving approach, strong communication skills, a sense of ownership, and drive.
- Certain US customer or client-facing roles may be required to comply with applicable requirements, such as immunization and occupational health mandates.
