Oracle is building Streaming Media as a Service, a first-of-its-kind product enabling streaming providers to seamlessly run their content streaming workloads on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). This is a fast-moving space at the intersection of media and cloud, where innovation directly impacts how millions of people watch live sports, shows, and events every day. As a Software Development Engineer, you’ll help shape the foundation of a brand-new product line, working on challenges that span high-scale video delivery, real-time analytics, and global cloud systems.
Requirements
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, Python, Go, or C++.
- Experience (or strong interest) in cloud services, distributed systems, or media streaming.
- Familiarity with designing for scalability, reliability, and observability is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Independently deliver features and services with high reliability and quality.
- Design and implement microservices for video playback, transcoding, content delivery, and analytics.
- Contribute to architecture discussions, focusing on scalability, availability, and observability.
- Collaborate with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to integrate services into larger workflows.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and operational support to maintain high standards.
- Mentor and support junior engineers by sharing knowledge and providing technical guidance.
- Explore new technologies and industry practices to enhance product capabilities.
