Bowhead / UIC Technical Services is seeking a Junior Software Developer to support the Wideband Satellite Operations and Technical Support (WSOTS II) contract in Colorado Springs, CO. The role involves developing, maintaining, and optimizing software tools and systems to enhance satellite communication operations, improve operational efficiencies, and ensure the seamless functionality of critical communication systems for national security initiatives.
Requirements
- Strong proficiency in scripting languages such as VBScript, Java, and Linux vi is essential.
- Experience in developing server-side and client-side applications.
- Familiarity with Microsoft development tools like Visual Studio, Visual Basic (VB), and VBA, is required.
- Knowledge of wideband SATCOM systems and concepts is highly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assisting the Wideband C-SSE in creating, developing, and maintaining various software tools, websites, and applications hosted on the Wideband SATCOM Operations Management System Network (WSOMSNet).
- Designing new functionalities, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring the security and reliability of the software.
- Maintaining configuration management control over all developed tools.
- Developing and tuning cyber tools and related technologies to enhance system security and performance.
- Conducting research, performing data analysis, creating detailed reports, and supporting client-initiated projects or initiatives.
- Troubleshooting issues and ensuring the security and reliability of the software.
- Developing, maintaining, and optimizing software tools and systems that enhance satellite communication operations.

- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field
- Minimum of two to four years of relevant experience in software development.
- Candidates must currently hold a Top Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance.
- Physical demands include the ability to lift up to 25 pounds, stand and walk for prolonged periods, and perform occasional twisting, bending, and squatting.
- Coordination with the C-SSE Configuration Change Board (CCB) to obtain approval for development and deployment activities.
