CAI is looking to solve the problem of seamless data interoperability between internal and third-party health systems by hiring a Python Developer with expertise in FHIR and HL7 standards.
Requirements
- 3+ years of software development experience (Python preferred)
- 2+ years working with healthcare interoperability standards (FHIR and HL7 v2)
- Strong experience with Python frameworks (e.g., FastAPI, Flask, or Django)
- Proficient in RESTful API development and integration
- Experience parsing and generating JSON, XML, HL7 v2 messages
- Database skills: SQL (PostgreSQL/Oracle)
- Familiarity with healthcare vocabularies: SNOMED CT, LOINC, ICD-10
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain HL7 v2 and FHIR-based integration pipelines
- Implement and support RESTful FHIR APIs for internal and external use
- Enable bi-directional data exchange with EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner)
- Collaborate with DevOps teams for deployment and monitoring of integrations
- Ensure compliance with healthcare data standards and security protocols (e.g., HIPAA)
- Parse and generate JSON, XML, HL7 v2 messages
- Work with integration tools (e.g., Rhapsody)
