WMATA presents an exciting AI Developer role that involves complex technical and business processes¿shaping how the authority¿s data is accessed, shared, and interpreted.

Requirements

  • cloud platforms like OCI or Azure
  • MLOps
  • model lifecycle management
  • modern AI frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Hugging Face

Responsibilities

  • design, develop, and deploy cutting-edge intelligent solutions that transform enterprise systems
  • work with large datasets, build predictive models, and integrate advanced AI capabilities
  • leveraging machine learning, deep learning, and natural language processing
  • Provides technical leadership and/or specialized technical assistance in problem-solving and application systems development.
  • Develops, enhances and maintains applications and integrations withinDigital Modernization's portfolio
  • Performs assignments using a full complement of software engineering skills such as requirements specification, system design,software development, qualityassurance, documentation, and testing.
  • Is responsible for a high level of operational performance and software reliability within major application systems throughout Digital Modernization.

Other

  • Graduation from an accredited college/ university with a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
  • In lieu of degree, a high schooldiploma or GED and additional four (4) yearsof experience in progressively responsible and diversified information systems, communication systems management and technical experience in a large organization.
  • Five (5) yearsof experience in progressively responsible and diversified information systems, communication systems management and technical experience in a large organization.
  • Experience in design, development and maintenance of operational applications preferably includingresponsibilities as seniortechnical staff and project managerand as senior technical staff and project manager is preferred.
  • Works variable hours to avoid adverse impact on operations and availability.
