Information Technology Services (ITS) at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater is seeking a Software Developer to lead and participate in the design, development, layout, coding, maintenance, and support of websites and applications to meet the needs of functional users.
Requirements
- Experience programming with object-oriented techniques using C-Sharp/ASP.NET Core and MVC for web application development.
- Experience in using Razor, HTML, JavaScript, Bootstrap and CSS to develop websites based on provided graphical designs
- Experience implementing responsive CSS and table-less HTML to create web pages and templates from graphic designs
- Experience with version control systems
- Experience using current versions of Visual Studio or Visual Studio Code
- Knowledge of web development design concepts
- Knowledge of browser behaviors including Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari and other emerging web browsers for both Windows and Macintosh operating systems
Responsibilities
- Reviews application design specifications, codes new applications, and makes enhancements to existing applications
- Designs and implements test plans, and prepares systems test data
- Develops, prepares, or modifies technical specifications for complex projects, system integrations, and upgrades
- Conducts systems analysis, reviews and interprets system requirements, and develops detailed system design specifications for system integration and upgrades
- Reviews application modules for quality assurance and checks compliance with application architecture standards
- Conducts analysis for the evaluation and selection of vendor software solutions and packages
- Contributes to the development of data structure and systems performance strategies

- Some evening, weekend and on-call responsibilities may be required
