The Montana Department of Transportation is looking to hire a Software Developer Section Supervisor to lead a team responsible for supporting a variety of applications and technologies, including Java web applications, Service Now, Jasper reporting, a .Net based accounting platform, Oracle, SQL Server, and Snowflake data warehouse. The team utilizes Jira and follows the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
Requirements
- Requires knowledge of a programming language such as Java, Agile Development; or knowledge of the ServiceNow platform, or ESRI technology and GIS solutions; or database platforms such as Oracle or SQL Server database environments; or web development tools and solutions.
Responsibilities
- Supervising development staff that support applications based upon a variety of technologies, including Java web applications, Service Now applications, Jasper reporting tools, a cloud-based accounting platform that is .Net based, and RDBMS based upon Oracle and SQL Server as well as Snowflake data warehouse.
- This section relies upon Jira for day-to-day operations, and ISD has implemented the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
Other
- 4 years of work experience in one or a combination of the following: software development, web development, GIS development, database administration or related field.
- 2 years of experience managing any combination of software and/or web developers, GIS professionals, database administrators, or data warehouse/data analytics staff.
- Proficient in contract, vendor, and procurement management.
- Knowledge of industry best practices and innovative technologies.
- The successful candidate must pass a fingerprint background investigation as a condition of employment.
- Proof of eligibility to work in the United States must be provided if selected for hire.
- Telework Eligible (Full-time telework is not available. Telework schedule must be supervisor approved.)
